| Abstract: | Lack of background knowledge is frequently the major cause of many Chinese EFL students' poor Listening comprehonsion. Therefore, it is of great importance to develop these students' background knowledge when something is listened. This paper discusses the close relationship between background knowledge and listening comprehension, illustrates the influence of background deficiency on students' comprehension, and proposes ways to help students develop background knowledge. |
