Analysis and Improvement for an Abnormal Timing System Noise of a Small Gasoline Engine

An abnormal noise appeared on the product line of a small gasoline engine,it came from the timing system by subjective evaluation,and it＇s intermittent.The key components were confirmed according to the results of vibration measurement combining with modulation analysis.Furthermore,the root cause of the noise was made sure through the dimension measurement for those components and the analysis of the productive techniques of some components.Consequently,the effective approach was brought out and the abnormal noise disappeared.
