一种自适应红外舰船图像增强算法

摘    要:复杂环境下海面舰船红外图像信噪比和对比度低、边缘模糊,目前仍没有一种处理效果好且实时性强的图像增强算法。提出一种基于平台直方图均衡化的自适应红外图像增强算法。首先,分析典型海面舰船红外图像及其直方图的特性;在此基础上,提出一种自适应确定目标/背景粗略阈值的方法;最后将灰度大于该阈值的直方图最大值作为平台值,通过平台直方图均衡化算法自适应地完成海面舰船红外图像的图像增强。实验结果表明,该算法不但有效地增强了图像的对比度、抑制了背景,而且具有较快的运算速度。

Abstract:The environment is so complicated on the sea that the infrared ship images always have low SNR and contrast,and boundaries of infrared target are blurry.Thus the enhancement of infrared ship image is very important.However,there is a lack of an image enhancement algorithm with good effect and fast speed.A new adaptive algorithm for infrared ship image enhancement based on platform histogram equalization was proposed in this paper.Firstly,the characteristics of typical infrared ship image and its histogram were analyzed.Secondly,a new adaptive method was proposed for determining the approximate threshold of the ship target and the background.The maximum value of histogram,with gray scale bigger than the threshold,was set to the platform of the platform histogram equalization algorithm.Finally,the infrared ship image was enhanced by the platform histogram equalization.Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can enhance infrared ship image adaptively under complex environment.As the same time,the speed of the algorithm is very fast.
