| Abstract: | Total hysterectomy is considered as gold standard in the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids in women without reproductive wishes. However an increasing number of patients asked for alternatives to hysterectomy. Myomectomy, endometrial ablation, hormonal treatment, uterine artery embolization, and supracervical hysterectomy may be useful in the treatment uterine fibroids in an individual patient. |
