| Abstract: | Hanyang Iron Works was the only rail-making enterprise in early modern China , as well as the only representative of realizing heavy industrialization through introducing foreign modern iron and steel technology into China. By studying the history of the rail-making of Hanyang Iron Works and China's early railway construction, we can find some characteristics of China's early industrialization of iron and steel, and get an insight into the start of the modern i-ron and steel technology system and its industry in early modern China. |
