The target monitor is vital in debugging an embedded application in the development environment of embedded system.At the angle of the specific implementation technology,this paper introduces and analyses the current main technology of the target monitor in the development environment of embedded system,which incluedes the software monitor,the hardware monitor,the software emulator and the software emulation monitor,et al.The differences and their merits and deficiencies of each type of the target monitor are summarized.
