摘    要:ITU组织的4年一度的国际电信博览会是通信领域规模最大的展览会 ,Telecom99又是国际电信博览会中规模最大的一次。本报告以参观Telecom99所了解的情况为基本内容 ,介绍了近年来光通信技术的发展情况 ,说明光纤通信仍然是最主要的传输技术。本报告从光纤通信设备和系统、光纤光缆、光器件、光仪表、工程施工及其它等几个角度介绍光纤通信在核心网方面的最新进展 ,光接入网的技术另有专题报告 ,本文不再赘述。

Abstract:ITU Telecom, which opens once every 4 years, is the largest exhibition in the world. Telecom99 is the largest one of ITU Telecom. This report introduces the development status of optical fiber communications technologies recently base on visited Telecom99. The conclusion is that optical fiber communication still is the major transmission technology. This paper introduces the development of optical fiber communications in core network from several areas such as equipment and systems, optical fiber and cable, optical devices, test and measurement instrument, engineering installation and others. Optical access technologies are out of the scope, it will be included in another special report.
