假日经济是我国发展过程中出现的新特点和新现象。假日经济虽然是经济发展中的“暂时现象”和表现现象，但由于增加社会就业机制，全面启动社会消费和文化消费，提高国民素质，为企业开拓市场创造广阔的空间等方面起着明显的刺激和推动作用。我国今后发展假日经济要有明确的认识定位，政府应为发展假日经济加强指导协调功能，相关企业应对假日消费市场作出准确的判断和科学的协作，今后重点将努力提高假日消费水平，拓宽假日消费领域，推动假日经济深层次发展。
