正方形介质柱光子晶体波导中的慢光研究

摘    要:研究了二维正方形介质柱光子晶体线缺陷波导中慢光的传输特性.采用平面波展开法探讨了缺陷波导中缺陷处介质柱尺寸和波导宽度的变化对群速度所产生的影响.数值分析表明,增大缺陷处介质柱边长或减小波导宽度都会使群速度有效降低.结合两种方法对缺陷波导进行优化后得到了群速度最大值低于0.071c、色散大小位于10^5量级、对光局域性更好的慢光波导结构.

Abstract:The transmission properties of slow light in a photonic crystal waveguide with square dielectric holes were investigated. The impact on the group velocity was also analyzed by the plane wave expansion method when the scale of defect dielectric holes and waveguide width in photonic crystal waveguide vary. The numerical simulation results show that the group velocity can be decreased effectively by increasing the scale of the defect dielectric holes or decreasing the waveguide width. Combining these two methods, a optimum structure of photonic crystal waveguide for slow light was gained, in which the maximum group velocity is smaller than 0. 071c, the magnitude of group velocity dispersion in the area of ultra slow light is about 105, and the structure can greatly confine the light in it.
