Progress and Prospects Synthesis Process of Ethylene Glycol

Ethylene glycol is an important chemical raw material. In this paper, process progress of ethylene glycol production with the oil route method and coal route method was introduced, and ethylene glycol production status at home was analyzed. In China, the oil route line is still the main method for ethylene glycol production, but it is limited by the international oil price, so our country should focus on coal rout method in the future. However, the development of new catalysts and technologies for ethylene glycol production should be strengthened, and the field of coal chemical industry should be expended.
