Abstract:The monofunctional-polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(POSS) molecule containing one single 3- chloropropyl group was synthesized by the corner-capping method using industrial raw material of phenyltrichlorosilane and heptaphenyltricycloheptasiloxane trisodium silanolate,which was used as filler to modify the functional polystyrene to prepare POSS/polystyrene(PS) composite.The structures of the all intermediates and POSS/PS composite were well characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum(1H-NMR,29Si-NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectrum(FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The results show that the condensation reaction of 3-chloropropylheptaisooctyl-POSS with the functional PS is efficient,and POSS molecule is well dispersed in the composite.
