A new supraglottic ventilation device-laryngeal tube

As one kind of new supraglottic ventilation devices, laryngeal tube has similar advantages and disadvantages at the establishement and the maintaining of airway compared with the laryngeal mask. Both of two airways have similar total intubation success rate while the one-time-success rate of laryngeal tube use is much higher than that of laryngeal mask. The airtightness of la-ryngeal tube is better than that of laryngeal mask. Laryngeal tube can be used for the operations on extremities, urological and gy-naecological procedures, and surface operations on the trunk. It is superior when it is applied to the airway establishment on patients with narrow larynx and injured cervical spine. It can also be applied to urgent airway establishement in the cardiopulmonury resuscita-tion.
