Producing Hi-Quality Pig Irons for Foundries Has Been of Great Urgency

A detailed discussion was made on the market demand for the hi-quality iron castings, especially the ductile iron castings, ADI castings and vermicular iron castings, and the compositions requirements for the hi-quality foundry pig irons including hi-purity pig irons used for production of above castings. It was pointed out that since most of hi-quality foundry pig irons are produced with small blast furnaces, and the competent authority has given orders to close all blast furnaces of capacity lower than 200 m3 that brought to the crisis of the shortage of raw materials required for hi-quality castings production. Therefore, the authors suggested that the competent authorities should take the balanced development of every branches of manufacture industry into consideration, and make adequate arrangements in a planned way for the production of hi-quality foundry pig irons and hi-purity pig irons to ensure the supply of hi-quality pig irons.
