从中西文化对比中透视八大传统节日的英译

从传统节日的定义及其意义问题出发,通过对比中西传统节日和中西传统文化以凸显我国传统节日文化特色,再通过对我国八大传统节日的起源进行追本溯源来努力挖掘每个传统节日所蕴含的深层次文化内涵,本着最大限度展现我国传统文化内涵的初衷来审视以上八大传统节日的现有英译,并对那些不能展现我国传统文化内涵的节日英译作出必要改进。

On C-E Translations of Eight Traditional Festivals from Contrast of Chinese and Western Culture

This paper begins with the definition and significance of traditional festivals and shows up characteristics of traditional culture in our country by comparing Sino-western traditional festivals and Sino-western traditional culture.Then it extracts the deep cultural connotation contained in respective festival by tracing back to sources of eight traditional festivals.Finally the author contemplates current translations of the above festivals and makes some necessary improvements for the sake of presenting our traditional cultural connotation in maximum limit.
