Abstract:In modern communication system,digital signal processing is applied in many aspects.FIR filter is one of the main tools which DSP designer used.In order to enhance the system performance,the FIR filter order has to be increased to get the better frequency response.With the increasement of filter orders,the amount of logical resources,the complexity of arithmetic and power dissipations are also increased.In multirate signal processing system,specially in high filter orders application used in interpolation and decimation,it's a really challenge to realize a DSP system in FPGA.The resampling filter using the polyphase form can achieve the same performance levels as the prototype FIR filter but using less logical resource,more simple arithmetic and less power disspation.Taking advantage of the special DSP architecture in Spartan6 and using the polyphase form and symmetry filter coefficient simultaneity,the modified polyphase filter can consume less resource then prototype polyphase filter to get the same performance.
