| Abstract: | OBJECTIVE To study the histopathological features of mucosa and bone tissue remodeling in refractory chronic rhinosinusitis.METHODS Histological specimens from 20 selected patients with RCRS who underwent endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS) and 10 control subjects were studied.The shedding of the epithelium,basement membrane thickening,mucosal fibrosis and bone proliferation were recorded.RESULTS Specimens from all patients with RCRS revealed epithelial damage and basement membrane thickening.Strikingly mucosal f... |
