Existing Hazards on Bridges of Concrete Continuous System

The common hazards on concrete continuous bridges include not only the usual forms of rebar rust and corrosion, concrete carbonization and damage by thawing, but also the typical forms of excessive deflection in the span, diagonal cracks in the web, transversal and longitudinal cracks in the bottom slab and separation of the upper and lower parts thereof, etc. in the large span concrete continuous bridges. Introduced hereby are the time of occurrence and tendency of development of the hazards, with their characteristics and mechanism and measures for their remedy. It is proposed that the transformation of the result be quickened from the research into design specification, and more efforts be made for the control.
