| Abstract: | After a brief introduction of main characteristics of the third generation mobile telecommunications system,the recent R&D works for it in the international organizations and some countries are presented.Based upon a review of the evolution to second generation mobile systems and the current situations in different countries,this paper analysed various perspectives and possible approaches for the evolution and migration towards third generation mobile systems.It is emphasized that more attention should be paid and further study should be encouraged in China. |
