归化与异化--翻译策略原则的选择及其度的把握

Foreignization or Domestication: the Appropriate Choice of Translating Strategies

The choice of foreignization or domestication when doing transition has been a hot issue in the community of translation studies for a long time.The authors think that the choice of translating strategies is directly related to such elements as the cultural status of the target language,the translator's cultural attitude toward the target language,the purpose of translation,the styles and functions of different texts and the readers groups.It is concluded that foreignization and domestication as two different translation techniques each have their merits and advantages and should be applied supplementarily and appropriately in translation.
