| Abstract: | In order to have an objective and systematic study of Band 4 compositions marked 2 and 5 in both grammar and stylistics, it is necessary to apply Systemic Functional grammar to the samples for grading. The grammar is better than traditional grammar in that it offers a closer perspective of language. The study of samples can help overcome the imperialism in composition analysis. |
