Increasing the locking bandwidth of a waveguide-cavity oscillator through the use of a double-tuned circuit

The experimental 6 GHz Gunn oscillator consists of a TE101 waveguide cavity and a coupling slot, both being mechanically tunable in frequency. Fractional-bandwidth?voltage-gain products of approximately 0.2, corresponding to Qext = 10, were obtained. Comparison is made with other broadband injection-locked solid-state oscillators.
