Flow Chart for safety Assessment of Genetically Modified Food

Genetically modified food is a new type of food derived from recombined DNA technique. The safety of these foods has been paid much attention. In order to assess the safety of genetically modified food scientifically and efficiently, the factors affecting variability of the assessment were discussed, including growth conditions, standards for safety assessment, processing procedure of genetically modified food, food choice of human beings and detection methods. Based on the molecular characters of the novel gene and the characters of genetically modified food itself, a flow chart for safety assessment of genetically modified food was established.
