| Abstract: | A method for predicting the distribution of structural components and the hardness over the volume of a part after hardening is developed on the basis of numerical solution of a heat problem. The type of the formed structures and the hardness at any point of the part are determined by comparing the cooling curves for the chosen points of the volume of the part and the cooling curves of a specimen fabricated from steel of the same heat and subjected to end quenching. |
