The Application of Impac Packing in the Cooling Tower of Refinery No.2

The advantages and the problems existing in the application of Impac packing and nozzles are summarized on the basis of the comparison to the field application status of packing in the cooling towers at home and abroad. The thermodynamic property, heat transfer capacity of medium and the water distribution condition of nozzles are explained. It is stated from comparative analysis for the economic benefits that the packing and nozzles have bright application future. The packing has such features as easy construction and simple installation, and the freezing problem occurred in the cooling tower in winter can be solved by using the packing. A new path is provided for the selection of the packing nozzles in the cooling tower revamp.
