Abstract:TiO2/AC composites were prepared by supercritical fluid deposition(SCFD),with butyl titanate and activated carbon(AC) as precursor and support,respectively.The TiO2/AC was characterized by X-ray diffractometry(XRD) scanning electron microscopy(SEM),BET specific surface area measurements,thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis(TG-DTA).The photocatalytic activity of TiO2/AC was investigated by the degradation of methylene blue(MB) under UV light.The results show that photoactivity of TiO2/AC is higher than that of P25 and the mixture of TiO2 and AC for MB degradation.It is attributed to the synergy effect of TiO2 and AC,the particle size of dispersed nano-TiO2 on AC is smaller than that of P25.TiO2/AC prepared at 600℃ shows the highest photocatalytic activity due to the effect of heat-treatment temperature on phase transformation and crystal growth.
