Abstract:The use of second harmonic generation as a technique for ultrashort optic pulse width measurement is analyzed to determine in detail the effect of group velocity mismatch (GVM) between fundamental and second harmonic fields considering different pulse shapes. It has been found that for interferometric autocorrelation and intensity autocorrelation, GVM has different effects versus different pulse shapes.
