Recently the middle and lower reaches of Lancang River is the one of the Hydropower energy bases which developed emphatically in our country. The first phase of Manwan Hydropower Project is the first one commissioned in the reaches. Developments,construction and earlier stage projects of the other five main hydropower stations have been carried out in full swing,Xiaowan Hydropower Station is broad in scale and it has good regulating action as well. Its compensation effect can be made the most on the stations downstream and even on the station group in the Yunnan power system. It is not only the key project of hydropower energy base in the middle and lower reaches,but also the key project that could straighten out irrational practices of the energy mechanism in Yunnan power system. The technical economic indicators of Xiaowan Hydropower Station are good.
