Abstract:The CDTECH etherification technology, including CDHydro (FCC gasoline selective hydrogenation), CDEthers (light cut naphtha etherification) and ISOMPLUS (C5 olefin isomerization) are introduced to build a new FCC gasoline etherification unit in some refinery. The process flow and control strategy have some special characteristics compared to the other LCN etherification technologies. Process specialty and typical control strategy of the unit is described, including the CDHydro column internal reflux control, the light cut gasoline/methanol ratio control, the methanol control for CD reaction column, the column pressure control and the column cut point control. It is important to understand the process control strategy for the design, operation and improvement of the FCC gasoline etherification unit.
