High viscosity pulp is a fluid with a viscosity much higher than that of water. This kind of pulp often exhibits characteristics different from those of low viscosity pulp. Therefore, high viscosity pulp has its own features in the filtering mechanism and the selection of filtering medium and filtering equipment. Based on the analysis of its rheology, the filtering properties of high viscosity pulp, the selection of filtering medium and the common used filtering elements and equipment for high viscosity pulp are introduced.
