| Abstract: | The article summarizes the studies and the development of theoretical model on the shear connectors in composite beams. It points out the form of the shear connectors, the effects of slip existing at the interface of steel and concrete as well as the degree of shear connection and other factors affecting the deflection, strength and the ductibility of prestressed composite steel-concrete beams. Finally existing problems in the field are discussed. |
