| Abstract: | An all optical wavelength converter (AOWC) is the key device for all optical net. We here reviewed the basic principle adopted in AOWC, then introduced typical AOWC schemes according to the different nonlinear devices used in the converter, in turn of fiber based, laser based, and SOA based. Finally opinions on future research were given. |
