Abstract:In order to understand and evaluate the monitoring capability and technical level of VOCs in ambient air in China,and assess the monitoring data quality of VOCs by quantitative means to promote the level of laboratory quality management,a large scale of nationwide inter-laboratory comparison was organized,represented by benzene in ambient air VOCs. A total of 216 ecological environment testing laboratories from 31 provinces at all levels were participated,including various monitoring institutions. The robust statistical technique was used during the comparison. The results showed that the overall pass rate of VOCs for benzene in ambient air was 68.5%,the pass rates of provincial monitoring stations,municipal-level above monitoring stations and social inspection institutions were 86.7%,75.4% and 46.9%,respectively,which indicated that the overall detection capacity of VOCs for benzene in ambient air in China was good,but there was still room for improvement. However,there was a big gap for social inspection institutions. It was suggested that local governments should strengthen the technical training of VOCs monitoring as well as online monitoring,and improve the level of VOCs monitoring technology as soon as possible to ensure the quality of VOCs monitoring data. The supervision and management of social inspection institutions is also need to be strengthened to improve their service level.
