Abstract: | A direct relationship between the binary interaction coefficients, kij and cij proposed by Chueh and Prausnitz, and Zudkevitch, for modifying the original mixing rules of the Redlich—Kwong equation of state is presented. Values of kij are evaluated by means of two methods for binary vapor—liquid equilibrium data for five systems at a total of thirty-two isothermal conditions. The calculated results from kij value obtained by minimizing Σ|ΔP| values are preferable to those obtained by minimizing Σ|Δy| values. The effect of temperature on kij for the systems investigated is shown and discussed. |
