The paper aimed to maximize the fuel burnup performance of plutonium and minor actinides fueled pebble bed high temperature reactor (PBMR-400). The PBMR-400 was designed as a reference core. The neutronic calculations were performed by the code combination MCNP-ORIGEN-MONTEBURNS. In this study, neutronic performances of three different types of nuclear fuels (Reactor Grade Plutonium – RGPu; Weapon Grade Plutonium – WGPu and Minor Actinides – MAs) combined with natural uranium were conducted in a PBMR-400 full core. The neutronic performances were compared with the original uranium fuel designed for this reactor. Neutronic calculations showed that 9.6 wt % enriched uranium has a core effective multiplication factor (keff) of 1.2395. Corresponding to this keff values the natural UO2/RG-PuO2; natural UO2/WG-PuO2 and natural UO2/MAO2 mixture were found 70%/30%, 76%/24% and 63%/37%, respectively. The operation times were computed as ∼2000, ∼2500 and 1400 days whereas, the corresponding burnup values were obtained as ∼163 000, ∼194 000 and ∼116 000 MWD/T, respectively, for end of life keff set equal to 1.08. 相似文献

This paper explores the fundamental question of why the practice and discipline of project management emerged during the 1940s through the 1960s in the United States. Although projects have been around for millennia, not until the middle of the 20th century in the U.S. military–industrial–academic complex did project management become formalized in institutional processes and as an academic discipline. The paper argues that technical complexity and novelty were the primary factors driving project management and its engineering counterpart systems engineering, as a new organizational form. Institutional factors such as the need for legal separation between government and industry created important secondary effects that drove the particular forms in which project management evolved. This paper uses examples from large scale, complex projects of the 1940s through 1960s in the aerospace and computing industries to tease out the fundamental technical and institutional factors that led to the emergence of project management in these two key American industries during this period. 相似文献

The ability to detect gun and gun held in hand or other body parts is a typical human skill. The same problem presents an imperative task for computer vision system. Automatic observer independent detection of hand held gun or gun held in the other body part, whether it is visible or concealed, provides enhance security in vulnerable places and initiates appropriate action there. Compare to the automatic object detection systems, automatic detection of gun has very few successful attempts. In the present scope of this paper, we present an extensive survey on automatic detection of gun and define a taxonomy for this particular detection system. We also describe the inherent difficulties related with this problem. In this survey of published papers, we examine different approaches used in state-of-the-art attempts and compare performances of these approaches.
