One of the main challenges in the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process is making dense and defect-free components. These porosity defects are dependent upon the melt pool geometry and the processing conditions. Power-velocity (PV) processing maps can aid in visualizing the effects of LPBF processing variables and mapping different defect regimes such as lack-of-fusion, under-melting, balling, and keyholing. This work presents an assessment of existing analytical equations and models that provide an estimate of the melt pool geometry as a function of material properties. The melt pool equations are then combined with defect criteria to provide a quick approximation of the PV processing maps for a variety of materials. Finally, the predictions of these processing maps are compared with experimental data from the literature. The predictive processing maps can be computed quickly and can be coupled with dimensionless numbers and high-throughput (HT) experiments for validation. The present work provides a boundary framework for designing the optimal processing parameters for new metals and alloys based on existing analytical solutions.  相似文献

An analytical model is presented to study the dynamics of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) networks with waveband switching (WBS). The reduced load approximation method is considered to compute approximated network blocking probabilities in WBS-based WDM networks. The analytical model considers the link blocking probability due to insufficient link capacity and an impact of the waveband granularity (G). The analytical model also considers the node blocking probability due to unavailability of a switch port at the wavelength cross connect (WXC) layer of an Hierarchical cross connect (HXC) switch node. The set of nonlinear equations is obtained with the link independence assumption and solved using repeated substitutions. The accuracy of the analytical model is examined by comparing with simulation results considering the random-fit algorithm for waveband and wavelength assignments in different network scenarios. Lightpaths are routed between source and destination (s-d) HXC switch nodes using shortest path first (SPF) routing. An impact of the switch parameter to limit the input and the output WXC switch ports of an HXC switching node is also being investigated using the analytical model as well as through simulation results.  相似文献

In this study, analytical solution for degradable organic contaminant transport through a composite liner consisting of a geomembrane (GMB) layer, a geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) and an attenuation layer (AL) is derived by the separation of variables method. The transient contaminant transport in the whole composite liner can be well described avoiding some weird phenomena in existing analytical solutions. The results of parametric study show that GCL has significant effect on improving the barrier efficiency especially for scenarios with high leachate head. The biodegradation and adsorption in GCL have significant influence on the contaminant transport through the composite liner when the half-life of contaminant in GCL is less than 5 years. Otherwise, the effect can be neglected.  相似文献

对英语教学质量实施科学化的评价关系到英语教学质量的提升,为减少主观因素的影响,本文提出一种ELM的教学质量评价方法,该种方法将可以在很大程度上提高教学质量评价的精度。对影响英语教学质量的12个指标进行打分,以此作为ELM的输入,同时将英语教学质量的综合得分作为ELM的输出。评价结果表明,基于EIM的英语教学质量评价结果比SVM、BP具有了很大程度的提升,为实施英语教学质量的评价提供了参考。  相似文献

Fully grouted rock bolts have been used in mining industry for many years. Much research has been conducted to evaluate the load transfer behavior of fully grouted rock bolts with experimental programs.However, compared with that, less work has been conducted with analytical modelling. Therefore, in this paper, the authors used an analytical model to study the load transfer behavior of fully grouted rock bolts.To confirm the credibility of this analytical model, an in-situ pull-out test was used to validate this model.There was a close match between the experimental result and the analytical result. Following it, a parametric study was conducted with this analytical model. The influence of coefficients, Young's modulus of the rock bolt and the diameter of the rock bolt on the load transfer performance of rock bolts was studied.Furthermore, the load distribution along the fully grouted rock bolt was analytically studied. The results show that the axial load in the rock bolt decayed from the loaded end to the free end independent of the pull-out load. However, the trend of the load distribution curve was influenced by the pull-out load. This paper was beneficial for better understanding the load transfer mechanism of fully grouted rock bolts.  相似文献

The use of advanced composite materials such as Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRPs) in repairing and strengthening reinforced concrete structural elements has been increased in the last two decades. Repairing and strengthening damage structures is a relatively new technique. The aims of this study was to investigate the efficiency and effectiveness of using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) to regain shear capacity of shear-deficient normal weight high strength RC beams after being damaged by thermal shock. Sixteen high strength normal weight RC beams (100 × 150 × 1400 mm) were cast, heated at 500 °C for 2 h and then cooled rapidly by immersion in water, repaired, and then tested under four-point loading until failure. The composite materials used are carbon fiber reinforced polymer plates and sheets. The experimental results indicated that upon heating then cooling rapidly, the reinforced concrete (RC) beams exhibited extensive map cracking without spalling. Load carrying capacity and stiffness of RC beams decreased about 68% and 64%, respectively, as compared with reference beams. Repairing the thermal damaged RC beams allowed recovering the original load carrying without achieving the original stiffness. Repaired beams with CFRP plates with 90° and 45° regained from 90% to 99% of the original load capacity with a corresponding stiffness from 79% to 95%, whereas those repaired with CFRP sheet on the web sides and a combination of CFRP plates and sheet regained from 102% to 107% of the original load capacity with a corresponding stiffness from 81% to 93%, respectively. Finally, finite element analysis model is developed and validated with the experimental results. The finite element analysis showed good agreement as compared with the experimental results in terms of load–deflection and load–CFRP strain curves.  相似文献

A detailed investigation of the weight of each non linear term of the Green–Lagrange strain displacement equation is presented, with reference to the buckling of orthotropic, both flat and prismatic, Mindlin plates. Usually in the literature, in buckling analysis only the second order terms related to the out-of-plane displacement are considered. Such heuristic simplification, known as von Kármán hypothesis, starts by the consideration that the buckling mode of a flat plate is described by dominant out-of-plane displacement and disregards the non-linear terms of the Green–Lagrange strain tensor depending on the in plane displacement components, whose role is confined to first order, say pre-critical, deformation. The present paper shows that disregarding the non linear terms related to the in-plane strain–displacement is equivalent to neglect shear induced rotation. In the work, the governing equations are derived using the principle of strain energy minimum and the differential equations solution is gained by using the general Levy-type method. The obtained results show that the von Kármán model overestimates the critical load when, in buckling mode, magnitudes of shear rotation, in-plane and out-of-plane displacements are comparable.  相似文献

Thermoplastic nanocomposites used for vibration welding are compounded on a twin-screw extruder by dilution of a concentrate masterbatch containing 14 vol% of filler. They are butt welded under different weld pressures by a linear vibration welding machine. By means of a quick ramp-down technology, this machine enables a very short vibration damping time of about 40 ms. The influence of different damping time on the weld strength of various materials is investigated. The experimental results are compared also with the results of simulation. In the case of nano-silica filled polypropylene, no impact of the damping time on the weld quality is detected and the possible reasons for this observation are explained.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel composite production cost estimation model. The strength of the model is its modular construction, allowing for easy implementation of different production methods and case studies. The cost model is exemplified by evaluating the costs of a generic aeronautical wing, consisting of skin, stiffeners and rib feet. Several common aeronautical manufacturing methods are studied. For studied structure, hand layup is the most cost-effective method for annual volumes of less than 150 structures per year. For higher production volumes automatic tape layup (ATL) followed by hot drape forming (HDF) is the most cost-effective choice.  相似文献

This paper deals with the investigation of the effect of hygrothermal conditions on the bending of nanoplates using Levy type solution model employing the state-space concept. The nanoplates are assumed to be subjected to a hygrothermal environment. The two-unknown function plate theory is used to derive the governing differential equations on the basis of Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory. The governing equations contain the small scale effect as well as hygrothermal and mechanical effects. These equations are converted into a set of first-order linear ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients. Analytical solution of bending response for nanoplates under combinations of simply supported, clamped and free boundary conditions is obtained. Comparison of the results with those being in the open literature is made. The influences played by small scale parameter, temperature rise, the degree of moisture concentration, boundary conditions, plate aspect ratio and side-to-thickness ratio are studied.  相似文献
