A manufacturing technique for monolithic dye-sensitised solar cells is presented. Encapsulated modules designed for indoor low-power applications have been prepared using industrial methods and equipment. Under certain conditions (light intensity <5000 lx, temperature between –10°C and 50°C, and relative humidity of appr. 50%), the modules have performed well and shown excellent long-term stability. Moreover, modules withstand illumination in combination with storage at 100% relative humidity. However, a certain degradation of the module performance takes place at illuminations exceeding 5000 lx and temperatures exceeding 50°C.  相似文献

The recent evolution of wireless sensor networks have yielded a demand to improve energy-efficient scheduling algorithms and energy-efficient medium access protocols. This paper proposes an energy-efficient real-time scheduling scheme that reduces power consumption and network errors on dual channel networks. The proposed scheme is based on a dynamic modulation scaling scheme which can scale the number of bits per symbol and a switching scheme which can swap the polling schedule between channels. Built on top of EDF scheduling policy, the proposed scheme enhances the power performance without violating the constraints of real-time streams. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme enhances fault-tolerance and reduces power consumption.  相似文献

Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) and cell densification represent promising solutions for the surging data traffic demand in wireless networks. In dense HetNets, user traffic is steered toward the Low-Power Node (LPN) when possible to enhance the user throughput and system capacity by increasing the area spectral efficiency. However, because of the transmit power differences in different tiers of HetNets and irregular service demand, a load imbalance typically exists among different serving nodes. To offload more traffic to LPNs and coordinate the Inter-Cell Interference (ICI), Third-Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has facilitated the development of the Cell Range Expansion (CRE), enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC) and Further enhanced ICIC (FeICIC). In this paper, we develop a cell clustering-based load-aware offsetting and an adaptive Low-Power Subframe (LPS) approach. Our solution allows the separation of User Association (UA) functions at the User Equipment (UE) and network server such that users can make a simple cell-selection decision similar to that in the maximum Received Signal Strength (max-RSS) based UA scheme, where the network server computes the load-aware offsetting and required LPS periods based on the load conditions of the system. The proposed solution is evaluated using system-level simulations wherein the results correspond to performance changes in different service regions. Results show that our method effectively solves the offloading and interference coordination problems in dense HetNets.  相似文献

Under intense environmental pressure, the global energy sector is promoting the integration of renewable energy into interconnected energy systems. The demand-side management (DSM) of energy systems has drawn considerable industrial and academic attention in attempts to form new flexibilities to respond to variations in renewable energy inputs to the system. However, many DSM concepts are still in the experimental demonstration phase. One of the obstacles to DSM usage is that the current information infrastructure was mainly designed for centralized systems, and does not meet DSM requirements. To overcome this barrier, this paper proposes a novel information infrastructure named the Internet of Energy Things (IoET) in order to make DSM practicable by basing it on the latest wireless communication technology: the low-power wide-area network (LPWAN). The primary advantage of LPWAN over general packet radio service (GPRS) and area Internet of Things (IoT) is its wide-area coverage, which comes with minimum power consumption and maintenance costs. Against this background, this paper briefly reviews the representative LPWAN technologies of narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and Long Range (LoRa) technology, and compares them with GPRS and area IoT technology. Next, a wireless-to-cloud architecture is proposed for the IoET, based on the main technical features of LPWAN. Finally, this paper looks forward to the potential of IoET in various DSM application scenarios.  相似文献

Basic algorithms have been proposed in the field of low-power (Yao, F., et al. in Proceedings of lEEE annual foundations of computer science, pp. 374–382, 1995) which compute the minimum energy-schedule for a set of non-recurrent tasks (or jobs) scheduled under EDF on a dynamically variable voltage processor. In this study, we propose improvements upon existing algorithms with lower average and worst-case complexities. They are based on a new EDF feasibility test that helps to identify the “critical intervals”. The complexity of this feasibility test depends on structural characteristics of the set of jobs. More precisely, it depends on how tasks are included one in the other. The first step of the algorithm is to construct the Hasse diagram of the set of tasks where the partial order is defined by the inclusion relation on the tasks. Then, the algorithm constructs the shortest path in a geometrical representation at each level of the Hasse diagram. The optimal processor speed is chosen according to the maximal slope of each path.
