The pulsed gas tungsten arc welding with hot wire was used to clad Inconel 625 on the surface of X65 steel. The influences of welding current in horizontal welding position on the dilution, in further the composition, microstructure, and property of the Inconel 625/X65 cladding interface were investigated. Experimental results show that with the increase in welding current, namely, in heat input and arc force, dilution rate increased; the composition transition region in the cladding layer close to the fusion line, controlled by the cladding temperature, would be widen; in further, the microstructure would be different due to the heat transfer and composition change; the precipitates were niobium-rich MC carbide with a low welding current, but tended to be the intermetallic compounds, Laves phase, with a high welding current; the highest and lowest hardness values appeared on the heat-affected zone and cladding layer next to the bonding interface, respectively. 相似文献

The work presented in this paper aims at providing a better understanding of the mechanical response of surface layer fibreglass-reinforced flexible pavements. The surface reinforcement technique consists of installing a fibreglass grid in between the levelling layer (placed on the base course to seal and level the pre-existing distresses) and the wearing course (or overlay). Flexural fracture tests were performed on two-layered reinforced asphalt specimens composed of both levelling and wearing courses to simulate a real overlay structure. Three fibreglass grids characterised by different mechanical and/or geometrical properties were employed. Strain localisation and damage distribution were investigated using an in-house digital image correlation system capable of achieving highly accurate 2D full-field strain maps of the specimens during loading. In the current investigation AISI 4340 steel was laser deposited on a rolled mild steel substrate by Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) technology. The microstructural investigation of the clad was performed using optical and electron microscopes and X-ray diffraction techniques. The microstructure consisted of ferrite, martensite and cementite phases. Two types of martensite, lathe-type and plate-type, were observed in the microstructure. Decrease in microhardness values from the top layer to the alloy layer proves that the degree of tempering of the martensite phase increases in the same direction. The lattice parameters of the identified phases were found to be shorter than those reported in literature. The reported parameters in literature are from samples processed under equilibrium conditions. 相似文献
