The aim of this review is to describe the characteristics of patient cohorts commonly used for translational biomarker research in prostate cancer and to outline the most prominent contemporary cohorts which serve as a source of prognostic and predictive biomarkers. A non‐systematic review of the literature was performed to identify and summarise well‐characterized translational prostate cancer cohorts that provide state‐of‐the‐art characterization of (i) primary and (ii) metastatic and castration‐resistant prostate cancer. The main advantages and features of these cohorts are a substantial number of patients, unique patient groups, comprehensive genetic characterisation of tumours using multi‐omics/next‐generation sequencing approaches, high‐quality control standards and fully or partially open data for the research community. This overview includes the contemporary cohorts which serve as a rich source of new targets for prognostic and predictive biomarkers as well as a reference database for validation of known biomarkers, therefore representing the cohorts whose impact extends over the current state of biomarker research into the near future (5–10 years).  相似文献

In this study, drug flux through microporated skin was modeled using detailed numerical solution of the diffusion equation. The results of the modeling were compared to previously published simplified and easy to use analytical equations. Limitations and accuracy of these equations were investigated. Appropriate modifications of the equations were identified to expand them to wider practical applications when pore shape is not circular. Numerical simulations have shown a good accuracy of the new simple equations when these are used within their limits of application.  相似文献

Skin sensitivity is a serious problem for many people, and it can be induced by various factors such as UV irradiation, physical and mental stresses, air pollution, dry air and so on. Skin dryness triggered by UV and dry air is one of the most important causes inducing the development of sensitive skin, and it has been reported that oxidative stress contributes to skin dryness. In this study, we investigated whether treatment with 3‐O‐laurylglyceryl ascorbate (VC‐3LG), which is an amphipathic ascorbic acid derivative, can suppress the development of sensitive skin. The results demonstrate that VC‐3LG restores the expression levels of interleukin‐1α, nerve growth factor and matrix metalloprotease‐9 in the dry skin models of reconstructed human epidermal equivalents (RHEEs) and in H2O2‐treated keratinocytes. In addition, VC‐3LG suppresses the dendrite elongation of nerve cells induced in RHEEs by dry skin conditions and by H2O2 treatment of keratinocytes. Therefore, we consider that treatment of the skin with VC‐3LG is an effective approach to improve the development of sensitive skin.  相似文献
