The current study presents an intelligent decision support model using rule sets based on a typical building energy management system. In addition, the model's impact on the energy consumption and indoor quality of a typical office building in Greece is presented. The model can control how the building operational data deviates from the settings as well as carry out diagnosis of internal conditions and optimize building's energy operation. In this context, the integrated “decision support model” can contribute to the management of the daily energy operations of a typical building, related to the energy consumption, by incorporating the following requirements in the best possible way: (a) the guarantee of the desirable levels of living quality in all building's rooms and (b) the necessity for energy savings. 相似文献

Multiuser location-aware applications present a new form of mediated communication that takes place within a digital as well
as a physical spatial context. The inherently hybrid character of locative media use necessitates that the designers of such
applications take into account the way communication and social interaction is influenced by contextual elements. In this
paper, an investigation into the communicational and social practices of users who participate in a location-based game is
presented, with an emphasis on group formation and dynamics, interpersonal communication, and experienced sense of immersion.
This investigation employs a methodological approach that is reliant on both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. A

Transmission operators and regulators face the enormous challenge to meet both the request for a high‐performing grid as well as the public's concern about the burdens of electric power transmission. Although huge infrastructural projects for the development of interconnections are at several stages, the associated transmission burdens are not yet fully incorporated in the respective socioeconomic analysis. In this respect, the aim of this paper is to present a collective summary of electricity transmission burdens and their associated impacts. To increase coherence, the burdens have been classified in the following categories: transmission losses; electromagnetic fields; infrastructure; visual intrusion; noise; interruption of supply; land use; ecosystems; and property values. Quality of Service (QoS) characterization and prediction is of utmost importance in contemporary operating cellular communications networks. Measurements data of speech and video telephony have been collected using modern experimental equipment. More specifically, key performance indicators of radio, speech and video quality are evoked. The objective of our study is to critically investigate the performance of speech and video telephony at live cellular networks correlating significant QoS parameters from radio and the service side. Simple non-linear regression models are also proposed for speech and video quality prediction. Finally, the paper represents the splendid positive influences of the continuous performance evaluation for the optimization of the mobile networks. The acute effects of flumazenil, a benzodiazepine (BZD) receptor antagonist in long-term BZD users were used as a possible test to detect physiological dependence. Thirty-four subjects (20 females, 14 males) aged 26-48 years (mean + SD, 42.4+/-8.5 years), all chronic users of low doses of diazepam (5-20 mg/day, 14.2+/-4.8 mg/day) for 5 to 28 years (10.5+/-6 years), received a single 1-mg i.v. flumazenil dose or saline, infused slowly under double-blind conditions. Physiological dependence was suggested as all patients receiving flumazenil developed an anxiety reaction while the placebo group did not. Flumazenil triggered a qualitatively different reaction amounting to a panic attack during infusion in nine out of 15 patients. These patients had a diagnosis of panic disorder or a history of panic attacks. Caution should be exercised when giving flumazenil to panic patients who are taking BZDs as maintenance treatment. 相似文献

This paper presents a multimedia streaming platform for efficiently transmitting MPEG‐4 content over IP networks. The platform includes an MPEG‐4 compliant streaming server and client, supporting object‐based representation of multimedia scenes, interactivity, and advanced encoding profiles defined by the ISO standard. For scalability purposes, we employ an application‐layer multicast scheme for media transmission using overlay networks. The overlay network, governed by the central entity of the network distribution manager, is dynamically deployed according to a set of pre‐defined criteria. The overlay network supports both broadcast delivery and video‐on‐demand content. The multimedia streaming platform is standards‐compliant and utilizes widespread multimedia protocols such as MPEG‐4, real‐time transport protocol, real‐time transport control protocol, and real‐time streaming protocol. The design of the overlay network was architected with the goal of transparency to both the streaming server and the client. As a result, many commercial implementations that use industry‐standard protocols can be plugged into the architecture relatively painlessly and can enjoy the benefits of the platform. 相似文献
