Atom scattering is becoming recognized as a sensitive probe of the electron–phonon interaction parameter λ at metal and metal-overlayer surfaces. Here, the theory is developed, linking λ to the thermal attenuation of atom scattering spectra (in particular, the Debye–Waller factor), to conducting materials of different dimensions, from quasi-1D systems such as W(110):H(1 × 1) and Bi(114), to quasi-2D layered chalcogenides, and high-dimensional surfaces such as quasicrystalline 2ML-Ba(0001)/Cu(001) and d-AlNiCo(00001). Values of λ obtained using He atoms compare favorably with known values for the bulk materials. The corresponding analysis indicates in addition, the number of layers contributing to the electron–phonon interaction, which is measured in an atom surface collision.  相似文献

The lateral stability of reaction fronts in simple autocatalytic models with the components carrying various charges is investigated when the system is exposed to an inhomogeneous electric field parallel to the direction of propagation. The enhanced migrational flux of the reactant destabilizes the planar front giving rise to a cellular structure because the electric field strength is greater on the reactant side of the reaction front. The onset of instability depends not only on the charge difference between the reactant and the autocatalyst but also on the variation of specific conductance in the course of the reaction, which results in a difference in electric field strength on the opposite sides of the reaction front.  相似文献

In this paper the nodes of the hexagonal grid are used as points. There are three types of neighbours on this grid, therefore neighbourhood sequences contain values 1, 2, 3. The grid is coordinatized by three coordinates in a symmetric way. Digital circles are classified based on digital distances using neighbourhood sequences. They can be triangle, hexagon, enneagon and dodecagon. Their corners and side-lengths are computed, such as their perimeters and areas. The radius of a digital disk is usually not well-defined, i.e., the same disk can have various radii according to the neighbourhood sequence used. Therefore the non-compactness ratio is used to measure the quality of approximation of the Euclidean circles. The best approximating neighbourhood sequence is presented. It is shown that the approximation can be improved using two neighbourhood sequences in parallel. Comparisons to other approximations are also shown.  相似文献

The purpose of the paper is to examine the factors that influence the deterioration of denitrification in open anoxic reactors. For this investigation an ASM 1-based simulation model was developed and successfully applied to fit data from batch experiments carried out in lab-scale reactor vessels (uncovered and covered) using both clarified domestic wastewater and synthetic wastewater. Applying the verified model, simulation studies were performed to investigate the effects of available denitrifiable substrate, biomass concentration, oxygen transfer rate, and temperature on deterioration of denitrification in open anoxic reactors. It has been shown that oxygen entering an anoxic reactor through the surface may not just affect denitrification metabolically, but also kinetically, due to increased dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration exerting an inhibitory effect on the denitrification rate. When the exogenous substrate concentration in the reactor vessel is high enough for a high consumption rate, the DO concentration is kept low. The higher the biomass concentration, and thereby the consumption rate of endogenous substrate, the lower the DO concentration during the low-rate denitrification phase. At low substrate removal rates, decreasing temperature will cause the DO concentration in anoxic vessels to increase. The results suggest that assuring removal of available exogenous carbon source at high rate by staging of open anoxic bioreactors may significantly improve denitrification efficiency.  相似文献

Proper and rapid identification of malfunctions (transients) is of premier importance for the safe operation of nuclear power plants. Feedforward neural networks trained with the backpropagation (BP) algorithm are frequently applied to model simulated nuclear power plant malfunctions. The correct identification of unlabeled transients-or transients of the "don't-know" type have proven to be especially challenging. A novel hybrid neural network methodology is presented which also correctly classifies the unlabeled transients. From this analysis the importance for properly accommodating practical aspects such as the drift of electronics elements of a simulator, the digitization of simulated and actual plant signals, and the accumulating errors during numerical integration became obvious. Beside the feedforward neural networks trained with the BP algorithm, many other types of networks and codes were used for finding the best (sensitive and robust) algorithms. Various neural network based models were successfully applied to identify labeled and unlabeled malfunctions of the Hungarian Paks nuclear power plant simulator. The BP and probabilistic methods have been proven as the most robust against the misleading recognition of unlabeled malfunctions.  相似文献

The production of precision parts requires manufacturing processes which procedure low residual stresses. A technique has been developed to continuously electroetch a specimen and simultaneously measure the change in its dimension, and then to compute the residual stress profile in that specimen. A ‘Specific Instability Potential’ derived from the strain energy of the residual stresses was found to relate directly to the machining parameters.  相似文献
