In this paper, we design jointly optimum transmitter and receiver beamforming structures in correlated MIMO Rayleigh fading channels with noisy channel estimates, and evaluate their performance through a closed-form expression for the probability of error. At the receiver, an estimate of the channel is obtained based on the transmitted pilot symbols. The knowledge of the estimate is then made available to the transmitter through a feedback channel. It is assumed that spatial correlation exists, either at the transmitter or at the receiver. A new exact closed-form expression for the probability of error is derived and the joint effects of diversity order and channel estimation accuracy on system performance are analyzed.  相似文献

We consider the nonparametric estimation of multivariate regression functions and their derivatives for a regression model with long-range dependent errors. We adopt a local linear fitting approach and establish strong consistency and rates for the estimators of the regression function and its derivatives. The rates of convergence depend on the amount of smoothing relative to the strength of the long-range dependence (LRD) resulting in distinct rates for small and large bandwidths. Moreover, the conditions determining this dichotomy are different for the estimates of the regression function than for the estimates of its derivatives  相似文献

The estimation of the spectral density function of a stationary Gaussian process at the input of an instantaneous nonlinearity is considered when the nonlinearity is known and a finite set of observations of the output process is given. A class of spectral estimates is considered and their quadratic-mean consistency is established; precise asymptotic expressions for their bias and covariance are derived and their asymptotic normality is obtained.  相似文献

The performance of PN spread-spectrum communication systems in the presence of narrow-band interference is studied when linear interpolation filters are employed for the estimation and subsequent suppression of the interference. Closed-form analytical expressions for the system's performance are established for a broad class of interference processes. The advantages of linear interpolation filters over predictive filters with identical number of taps are examined analytically and some unexpected results are obtained. The purpose of the paper is to present the design and performance analysis of a fast frequency-hopped (FFH) spread spectrum communication system employing differential binary phase-shifted-keying (DBPSK) modulation and differentially coherent demodulation. The receiver utilizes a hop time tracking loop to “lock” the hop clock. The authors present an analysis of the average bit error probability of the overall system when it is operating in additive white Gaussian noise plus partial-band noise jamming. Spinal cord injuries and their catastrophic effects require a treatment infrastructure able to provide an integrated process of management, including rehabilitation from injury and on an ongoing basis. This is particularly important because the incidence of spinal cord injuries is small. Better outcomes and cost efficiency with such an infrastructure have been established, but further knowledge is required to solve the remaining controversies in some aspects of management.  相似文献

Schistosoma circulating antigens were used to indicate the infection intensity and to assess cure. An immunoglobulin G2a (IgG2a) mouse monoclonal antibody was used in a fast dot-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA; FDA) for rapid and simple diagnosis of schistosomiasis in the field. Seven hundred Egyptians were parasitologically examined for Schistosoma mansoni and other parasitic infections. A rectal biopsy was done as a "gold standard" for individuals showing no S. mansoni eggs in their feces. Egg counts were obtained by the Kato smear method for only 100 of 152 individuals with eggs in their feces. Specific anti-schistosome IgG antibodies were evaluated in sera by ELISA. Urine samples from the 700 individuals were tested by FDA for detection of the circulating antigen. The assay showed a sensitivity of 93% among 433 infected individuals and a specificity of 89% among 267 noninfected individuals. FDA showed the highest efficiency of antigen detection (91%) compared with the efficiency of antibody detection by ELISA (75%) and stool analysis (60%). In addition, FDA detected infected patients with 20 eggs/g of feces. Also, the sensitivity of FDA ranged from 90 to 94% among samples from patients with different clinical stages of schistosomiasis. All the assay steps can be completed within 30 min at room temperature for 96 urine samples. The monoclonal antibody identified a 74-kDa antigen in different antigenic extracts of S. mansoni and Schistosoma haematobium and in the urine of infected individuals. In addition, a 30-kDa degradation product was identified only in the urine samples. On the basis of these results, FDA should be used as a rapid tool for the sensitive and specific diagnosis of Schistosoma infection.  相似文献
