In recent years the JET scientific programme has focussed on addressing physics issues essential for the consolidation of design choices and the efficient exploitation of ITER in parallel to qualifying ITER operating scenarios and developing advanced control tools. This paper reports on recent achievements in the following areas: mitigation of edge localised modes (ELMs), effects of toroidal field (TF) ripple, advanced tokamak scenarios, material migration and fuel retention. Active methods have been developed to mitigate ELMs without adversely affecting confinement. A systematic characterisation of the edge plasma, pedestal energy and ELMs, and their impact on plasma-facing components as well as their compatibility with material limits has been performed. The unique JET capability of varying the TF ripple from its normal low value δBT = 0.08% up to δBT = 1% has been used to elucidate the role of TF ripple on confinement and ELMs. Increased TF ripple in ELMy H-mode plasmas is found to have a detrimental effect on plasma stored energy and density, especially at low collisionality. The development of ITER advanced tokamak scenarios has been pursued. In particular, βN values above the ‘no-wall limit’ (βN  3.0) have been sustained for a resistive time. Gas balance studies combined with shot-resolved measurements from deposition monitors and divertor spectroscopy have confirmed the strong role of fuel co-deposition with carbon in the retention mechanism through long-range migration and also provided further evidence for the important role of ELMs in the material migration process within the JET inner divertor leg.  相似文献

The extraction of ores and minerals by underground mining often causes ground subsidence phenomena. In urban regions, these phenomena may induce small to severe damage to buildings. To evaluate this damage, several empirical and analytical methods have been developed in different countries. However, these methods are difficult to use and compare due to differences in the number of criteria used (from 1 to 12). Furthermore, the results provided by damage evaluation may be significantly different from one method to another. The present paper develops vulnerability functions based on a concept that has been applied in other areas, such as earthquake engineering, and that appears to be a more efficient way to assess building vulnerability in undermined cities. A methodology is described for calculating vulnerability functions in subsidence zones using empirical methods. The first part of the paper focuses on existing empirical methods for damage evaluation, and selected necessary improvements or modifications are justified. The second part focuses on the development of a building typology in subsidence zones and its application in the Lorraine region, where many villages are subject to subsidence problems due to iron-ore mining. The third section describes and discusses the adopted methodology for determining vulnerability and fragility functions or curves. Finally, vulnerability functions are tested and validated with a set of three subsidences that occurred in Lorraine between 1996 and 1999.  相似文献

Quantitative characterization of the porosity structure of the carbon reinforced carbon fibre (CFC) materials is carried out by high resolution cone-beam X-ray micro-tomography (CBμCT). It is shown that CBμCT provides useful information pertaining to the in-depth fuel migration into carbon tiles function of the CFC material structure. The investigated materials comprised two types of non-irradiated CFC samples (former ITER reference CFC NB31 and JET CFC DMS780) and a series of CFC N11 samples in the frame of the Deuterium Inventory in Tore Supra (DITS) post-mortem analysis. A procedure for the quantitative evaluation of the CFC porosity factor has been introduced and tested. Useful information about the pores connectivity as well as the metal impregnation inside the CFC macroscopic pores, in case of heat sink region of the TS CFC, can be retrieved. The method can be used for the quality control monitoring of the new CFC ITER reference materials.  相似文献

The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) assesses executive and frontal lobe function and can be administered manually or by computer. Despite the widespread application of the 2 versions, the psychometric equivalence of their scores has rarely been evaluated and only a limited set of criteria has been considered. The present experimental study (N = 100 healthy adults) therefore examined the psychometric equivalence of 4 scores (i.e., Total Correct, Percentage of Errors, Perseverative Errors, and Failure-to-Maintain-Set) obtained on the 2 versions of the WCST in terms of 4 key criteria identified within the framework of classical test theory. The results showed considerable differences in variances, small to modest parallel-forms reliability coefficients, and small to modest temporal stability coefficients. Taken together, our results suggest that scores on the manual version and the computer version of the WCST show incomplete psychometric equivalence.
