An apocrine hidrocystoma of the shoulder of a 59-year-old woman is, to our knowledge, only the third reported case that arose outside of the head and genitalia. Its origin was nonetheless consistent with the distribution of apocrine glands in adults.  相似文献

High density polyethylene/tricalcium phosphate/ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (TCP/HDPE/UHMWPE) Nanocomposite as an orthopedic biomaterial (with better properties toward TCP/HDPE composite) was obtained. To evaluate the capability of this nanocomposite as a material for bone tissue replacement, mechanical and biological assessments were performed. In this study, nanosize β‐TCP powders with average grain size of 100 nm were synthesized by chemical precipitation method and characterized by means of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). To evaluate the mechanical properties of this biomaterial, tensile properties were obtained for the material. Results showed that by increasing the weight percentage of β‐TCP, the elastic modulus increases, elongation at yield decreases and with no significant change in tensile strength. SEM micrographs of cryogenic fracture surface of samples indicated that distribution of nano powders in matrix is homogeneous. In vitro biological evaluations on the samples were done by performing cytotoxicity (MTT assay), alkaline phosphatase enzyme, and cell attachment tests. In all of the tests, osteoblast cells were used. Results of biological tests showed that the samples are biocompatible and they have no toxicity. Also, SEM observations demonstrated that the cells can attach to surface of nanocomposite samples, which reveals osteoconductivity of the surface. POLYM. The optimal time for sterilization is 24-36 hours after childbirth or during the 8th week in the postpartum period. The surgical methods of sterilization of the ovarian ducts are simple, harmless, effective, reversible, economical, and voluntary. These considerations also apply to endoscopic methods. For the occlusion of ovarian ducts, electrical current (monopolar and bipolar) and mechanical means (Yoon ring, Hulka and Filshie clips) are used. Unipolar coagulation of the ovarian ducts is another method of surgical sterilization done by laparoscopy. The area of coagulation occupies about 1.5 cm. The length of bipolar coagulation is 10 times larger than the unipolar coagulation site. Patients can be released 4 hours or the next day after the operation. The frequency of complications with bipolar coagulation is low: burning occurs in 0.04-0.1% of cases and bleeding from the mesosalpinx in 0.16-0.5%. The incidence of pregnancy after the operation amounts to 0.1-0.4%. Mechanical methods of sterilization are also reliable, although they are not suitable for all women. For young women who may still want children it is uniquely expedient to employ the Hulka or Filshie clips. In the rest of the cases the Yoon ring can be used, which was first used in the US in 1972 and became popular subsequently. The rate of complications is rare with its use (0.12-3.75%), and pregnancy occurs in 0.08-0.4% of cases. The incidence of complications with the use of clips amounts to 0-0.71%, the pregnancy rate is 0-0.59%, and the possibility of reversal is 80-100%. This method is ideal for young women who do not want to use other contraceptives and who want to have more children.  相似文献

The effect of partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) on the mechanical properties of the hydroxyapatite-high density polyethylene composites was studied by investigating the effect of hydroxyapatite and the simultaneous effect of hydroxyapatite and PSZ volume fractions on fracture strength, modulus of elasticity, and absorbed energy in the composite samples. The results showed a decrease in fracture strength, and absorbed energy with an increase in the volume fraction of hydroxyapatite content in the hydroxyapatite-polyethylene samples. Partial replacement of hydroxyapatite with PSZ particles was beneficial in the improvement of both the fracture strength and failure energy values in the composite samples. A transition from ductile to brittle behavior was observed as the volume fraction of ceramic filler particles increased in the samples.  相似文献

In the present study, the biocompatibility of partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) added hydroxyapatite (HA)––high density polyethylene (HDPE) composites was evaluated by proliferation and cell attachment assays on two osteoblast cell lines (G-292, Saos-2) and a type of fibroblast cell isolated from bone tissue namely HBF in different time intervals. Cell-material interactions on the surface of the composites were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of composites on the behavior of osteoblast and fibroblast cells was compared with those of HDPE and Tissue Culture Poly Styrene (TPS) (as negative control) samples. Results showed that the composite samples supported a higher proliferation rate of osteoblast cells in the presence of composite samples as compared to the HDPE and TPS samples after 3, 7 and 14 days of incubation period. It was showed that an equal or in some cases an even higher proliferation rate of G-292 and Saos-2 osteoblast cells on composite samples in compare to negative controls in culture period (P < 0.05). The number of adhered cells on the composite samples was equal and in some cases higher than the number adhered on the HDPE and TPS samples after the above mentioned incubation periods (P < 0.05). Adhered cells presented a normal morphology by SEM and many of the cells were seen to be undergoing cell division.  相似文献

Plasmonic dipoles are famous for their strong absorptivity rather than their reflectivity. Here, the as‐yet unknown specular reflection and the Brewster effect of ultrafine plasmonic dipoles, metaparticles, are introduced and exploited as the basis of new design rules for advanced applications. A configuration of “Plasmonic metaparticles on a blackbody” is demonstrated and utilized for the design of a tailored perfect‐colored absorber and for visual detection of environmental dielectrics that is not readily done by extinction plasmonics. Moreover, the Plasmonic Brewster Wavelength (PBW) effect is introduced as a new platform for the naked‐eye and bulk biodetection of analytes. The technique operates based on slight changes of molecular polarizability which is not detectable via conventional plasmon resonance techniques. As a specific highlight, the clinical applicability of the PBW method is demonstrated while addressing the transduction plasmonic techniques' challenge in detection of bulk refractive index changes of the healthy and diseased human serum exosomes. Finally, the sputtering‐based fabrication method used here is simple, inexpensive, and scalable, and does not require the sophisticated patterning approach of lithography or precise alignment of light coupling for the biodetection.  相似文献

The change of electrophoretic mobility (EPM) of erythrocytes of donor blood caused by their incubations with the bee venom and its major components--melittin and phospholipase A2 was investigated. It was estimated that the bee venom reversibly decreased EPM of erythrocytes to the higher degree than its separate components. The reaction was completely abolished after preliminary processing of erythrocytes with neuroaminidase and partly after their processing with glutaraldehyde, but the effect of EPM increased under the conditions of the increasing of ATP concentration. Proceeding from the authors' data it was concluded that the major components of the bee venom successively interacted with glicocalyx elements and membrane of erythrocytes which evokes the charge redistribution in these blood cells.  相似文献

A comparative study was made on the survival rate of cell-precursors of haemopoietic stroma, that form, in a rat bone marrow culture, colonies (clones) of fibroblasts (CFU-F) after gamma-irradiation of animals in the air or in a gas hypoxic mixture, containing 8% of O2 (GHM-8). Irradiation in GHM-8 was shown to increase the survival rate of CFU-F by 1.7 times (as compared to exposure in the air) as estimated by the total number of colonies that are formed in a culture; the radioprotective effect of GHM-8 was more pronounced for CFU-F which form dense colonies: DMF for dense and loose clones was 2.4 and 1.6 respectively.  相似文献
