The paper describes a computerized facility layout designer, COMLAD II, for plant layout development. Besides developing an efficient layout, COMLAD II has useful features which allow fixing the departments, changing the shape of the departments and changing the length and width dimensions of the overall layout.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a tool for evaluating performance of a heterogeneous mobile network under different traffic conditions. The traffic condition is specified in a cluster of seven heterogeneous base stations, and “wrap-up” cell structure is applied to account for the traffic that crosses the boundary of the cluster. The performance of the network is specified in metrics which can be computed using the algorithm developed. These metrics relate to call rejection, i.e. the blocking of new calls, and the termination of handoff calls, as well as the carried traffic i.e. the expected number of ongoing calls in a station. These metrics are either measured for a single base station in a cluster, or measured for the average over the whole cluster. We apply the algorithm to some hypothetical data and present the numerical results. We also consider approximating a heterogeneous model with a simpler homogeneous model. Through some numerical results, we demonstrate the magnitude of errors that could result in the approximation.  相似文献

Computer graphics are used by architects mainly for presentation purposes. However, the rapid pace of the development of computer technology enables more creative applications. This research proposes the use of dynamically simulated computer graphics as an evaluation tool for architectural design. Since buildings are living entities, whole life cycles of buildings should be dynamically simulated in highly visualised virtual environments to evaluate the future performance of prospective designs. Two areas that seem especially promising for near future (evaluation of user-building interaction and visualisation of environmental factors) are mentioned and some proposals are presented for the future use of dynamic simulations in virtual environments.  相似文献

Highly soluble perylene diimide derivatives with symmetrical and unsymmetrical secondary, tertiary alkyl side chains were synthesized and their photophysical properties, redox potentials and thermal stabilities were measured and compared with previously reported 1-pentylhexyl substituted swallow-tailed perylene diimide. Diasteroisomers of the novel, unsymmetrical swallow-tailed substituted perylene diimide compound could not be detected using low temperature NMR spectroscopy. The novel dyes were soluble in a range of organic solvents indicating potential for photo-electronic applications and photocatalytic reactions. Two dyes were not only soluble in organic solvents but also showed solubility in aqueous media as the hydrochloride salt, thus offering potential use in biological applications.  相似文献

In this study, a goal-programming model is proposed for the design of hybrid cellular manufacturing (HCM) systems, in a dual resource constrained environment, considering many real-world application issues. The procedure consists of three phases. Following an initial phase involving a Pareto analysis of demand volumes and volatility, a machine-grouping phase is conducted to form manufacturing cells, and a residual functional layout. In this phase, over-assignment of parts to the cells, machine purchasing cost, and loss of functional synergies are attempted to be minimized. Following the formation of cells and the functional layout, a labor allocation phase is carried out by considering worker capabilities and capacities. The total costs of cross-training, hiring, firing and over-assignment of workers to more than one cell are sought to be minimized. An application of the model on real factory data is also provided in order to demonstrate the utility and possible limitations. The industrial problem was solved using professional mathematical programming software.  相似文献

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxxythiophene) (PEDOT), polyaniline (PANI) and polythiophene (PTh) based multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites were successfully prepared using RF-rotating plasma grafting method. Morphological characterizations of composites were determined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which showed that conducting polymers (CPs) of PEDOT, PANI and PTh were coated on the surface of CNTs. The surface properties of the Carbon Nanotube (CNT) composites were also determined by using Infrared Spectra (FT-IR), X-ray Photon Spectra (XPS), and Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectra (SEM-EDX) analysis. X-ray photon spectra results confirmed the formation of the composites. Composites of MWCNT were used in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) as counter electrodes and exhibited short-circuit photocurrent densities of 11.19, 10.70 and 8.54 mA/cm2 for PANI/MWCNT, PTh/MWCNT and PEDOT/CNT, respectively.  相似文献

This paper describes a method for constructingbehavior models of communication networks. The methodutilizes archived quantitative performance data createdby a network management platform to create a Quantitative/Qualitative (Q2)Dynamic System representation. The Q2representation captures the predominant qualitative(symbolic) states of the network, qualitative inputevents and transitions among the states resulting from these events. Thissymbolic model allows the network manager to understandthe current system behavior, and predict future possiblebehaviors. We evaluated the method on two sets of archive data. Effects of storage period on hydroxymethylfurfural, pH and colour were studied in white hard grape pekmez (Zile pekmezi), a Turkish traditional product. Pekmez samples were stored at 20 °C for 8 months. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences in hydroxymethylfurfural, pH, L, a and b values (P<0.01) based on storage time.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication and performance of vacuum-processed organic field effect transistors utilizing evaporated low-density polyethylene (LD-PE) as a dielectric layer. With C60 as the organic semiconductor, we demonstrate low operating voltage transistors with field effect mobilities in excess of 4 cm2/Vs. Devices with pentacene showed a mobility of 0.16 cm2/Vs. Devices using tyrian Purple as semiconductor show low-voltage ambipolar operation with equal electron and hole mobilities of ~0.3 cm2/Vs. These devices demonstrate low hysteresis and operational stability over at least several months. Grazing-angle infrared spectroscopy of evaporated thin films shows that the structure of the polyethylene is similar to solution-cast films. We report also on the morphological and dielectric properties of these films. Our experiments demonstrate that polyethylene is a stable dielectric supporting both hole and electron channels.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of fluoride varnish with added casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate on the shear bond strength (SBS) of two adhesive systems to enamel. Specimens obtained from permanent teeth were randomly distributed among four groups for enamel pretreatment [Control (no treatment, CNT), Duraphat varnish (DV), Clinpro White varnish (CWV), MI Varnish (MIV)], and each group was further divided into two subgroups according to adhesive [Etch&rinse (Adper Single Bond, ASB), self-etch (Clearfil SE Bond, CSE)]. Specimens were stored in distilled water at 37 °C for 24 h. Cylindrical composite specimens (2.3 mm in diameter, 3.0 mm in height) were then bonded to the enamel surfaces. SBS tests were performed and data were analyzed with two-way ANOVA and Tukey’s tests. For both CSE and ASB, SBS values of the CNT groups were significantly higher than those of all the enamel pretreatment groups (p < 0.05). Among the enamel pretreatment groups, SBS values with both adhesive systems were lowest in the MIV groups, followed by CWV and DV groups. In conclusion, pretreatment of enamel surfaces with fluoride-containing varnishes reduced bonding performance of adhesive systems to enamel. MIV appeared to cause greater enamel surface alterations and precipitation, which interfered with adhesive bonding mechanisms.  相似文献
