Hydrogels are polymeric materials widely used in medicine due to their similarity with the biological components of the body. Hydrogels are biocompatible materials that have the potential to promote cell proliferation and tissue support because of their hydrophilic nature, porous structure, and elastic mechanical properties. In this work, we demonstrate the microwave-assisted synthesis of three molecular weight varieties of poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate (PEGDMA) with different mechanical and thermal properties and the rapid photo of them using 1-hydroxy-cyclohexyl-phenyl-ketone (Irgacure 184) as UV photoinitiator. The effects of the poly(ethylene glycol) molecular weight and degree of acrylation on swelling, mechanical, and rheological properties of hydrogels were investigated. The biodegradability of the PEGDMA hydrogels, as well as the ability to grow and proliferate cells, was examined for its viability as a scaffold in tissue engineering. Altogether, the biomaterial hydrogel properties open the way for applications in the field of regenerative medicine for functional scaffolds and tissues.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This paper presents simulation studies and theoretical analysis of sensing property of concentric square ring metamaterial biological materials. Phantom of dielectric cell having dimension 100 µm long and 25 µm in radius is considered. Sensor is designed using periodic arrays of split ring resonators and wires having negative permittivity and permeability at 16.694 GHz. Transmission parameters are extracted using CST MWS software. Change in resonance is observed on placing phantom close to the sensor due to the change in capacitance and inductance. Designed sensor can sense single phantom cell with 133 MHz of shift in resonance. Study shows that sensor has good sensitivity for detecting micron size dielectric objects.  相似文献

Tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) also referred to as ‘white curcumin’, is a stable colorless hydrogenated product of curcumin with superior antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The present study is an attempt to elevate the topical bioavailability of THC, post-incorporation into a nano-carrier system with its final dosage as a hydrogel. Lipid nanoparticles of THC (THC-SLNs) prepared by microemulsification technique were ellipsoidal in shape (revealed in transmission electron microscopy) with a mean particle size of 96.6?nm and zeta potential of ?22?mV. Total drug content and entrapment efficiency of THC-SLNs was 94.51%?±?2.15% and 69.56%?±?1.35%, respectively. Differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the formation of THC-SLNs. In vitro drug release studies showed the drug release from THC-SLNs gel to follow Higuchi’s equation revealing a Fickian diffusion. Ex vivo permeation studies indicated a 17 times (approximately) higher skin permeation of THC-SLNs gel as compared with the free THC gel. Skin irritation, occlusion, and stability studies indicated the formulation to be nonirritating, and stable with a desired occlusivity. Pharmacodynamic evaluation in an excision wound mice model clearly revealed the enhanced anti-inflammatory activity of THC-SLNs gel and was further confirmed using biochemical and histopathological studies. It is noteworthy to report here that THC-SLNs gel showed significantly better (p?≤?0.001) activity than free THC in gel. As inflammation is innate to all the skin disorders, the developed product opens up new therapeutic avenues for several skin diseases. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper elaborating the therapeutic usefulness of white curcumin-loaded lipidic nanoparticles for skin inflammation.  相似文献

Zinc-substituted magnesium titanate ZnxMg1?xTiO3 (x?=?0.00–0.10, δx?=?0.025) solid solutions were synthesized using auto-ignition combustion process and characterized for structural, dielectric and reflection properties. X-ray diffraction analysis discovered the creation of single-phase MgTiO3. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicated the existence of low porosity closely packed grains. The study of the dielectric properties indicated that for ZnxMg1?xTiO3 with x?=?0.05, a reasonably great combination of the relative permittivity (?r) with value 16.60, loss tangent (tanδ) of 0.9?×?10?3 and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) of ? 41.37 ppm/°C at 10 kHz was observed. The electromagnetic reflection analysis at microwave frequencies (12.4–26.5 GHz) revealed that composition x?=?0.05 shows maximum 90% reflection bandwidth of 5.60 GHz in the Ku frequency band and 4.59 GHz in the K frequency band. These materials with low to intermediate relative permittivity, low losses, and a minor negative temperature coefficient of resonant frequency might be utilized as a resonator, antenna, and filter substrate for next-generation communication devices.
