This article provides Munsell (aim and actual), NCS (aim and actual), DIN (aim and actual), Coloroid (aim), Colorcurve (aim and actual), and OSA-UCS (aim and actual) notations for the 237 colour samples that comprise BS5252. These notations were obtained from recent spectrophotometric measurement of the standard, using a new version of the colour notation conversion program initially developed at the University of Teesside. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons. This paper presents numerical calculations and experimental results for two cascaded semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) in a counterpropagating configuration for an all-optical switching operation. A detailed theoretical analysis with regard to the gain evolution and the extinction ratio (ER) through the SOAs' cavities show that the two cascaded SOAs have improved performance over the single SOA configuration. A measured ER up to 20 dB is obtained for close contra-directional signal wavelengths and for a wide range of optical input powers. An all-optical switching operation is realized for 2.5-GHz data pulses, and its feasibility is demonstrated with an ER higher than 12 dB over a wide range of wavelength.  相似文献

The authors present a novel all-optical logic NOR gate using two-cascaded semiconductor optical. amplifiers (SOAs) in a counterpropagating feedback configuration. This configuration accentuates the gain nonlinearity due to the mutual gain modulation of the two SOAs. The all-optical NOR gate feasibility has been demonstrated delivering an extinction ratio higher than 12 dB over a wide range of wavelength.  相似文献
