A mathematical simulation model was developed that can determine the three-dimensional wind velocity field over a complex terrain. The Ténès area in the Valley of Cheliff in Algeria was used as a case study. This region is exposed to south-west circulation that makes it favorable to the use of wind energy. Knowledge of wind fields is crucial for predicting the dispersion of pollutants, for forecasting meteorological weather, for fire spread prediction and in the design and implementation of wind turbines. By means of a mass consistent model, an in-house program was developed to calculate the three-dimensional wind velocity field in the study region. The model was supported by a numerical box in which flow through is allowed for in the upper and lateral boundaries. The bottom boundary through which no flow through occurs was determined by the topographic relief at the surface. From measured wind velocities, observed values were calculated by interpolation-extrapolation. Using an optimization method, the adjusted velocities were obtained from constraints, observed velocities and the continuity equation. The model was verified with wind point data, the relative error did not exceed 6%.  相似文献

Doxorubicin (DOX) is used to treat different kinds of cancers, including cervix carcinoma. However, it has various side effects such as cardiotoxicity. Nano-sized controlled releasing carriers such as polymeric micelles are of interesting approaches to overcome these side effects of doxorubicin in cancer chemotherapy. Regarding the up-regulation of CD13/APN receptors on the cervix carcinoma cells, which can bind to peptide sequences specially NGR (asparagine–glycine–arginine) with high affinity, peptide sequence (NGR) targeted micelles would lead to effective treatment of this carcinoma. In this study, the NGR peptide sequence was synthesized using the solution-phase strategy from asparagine, glycine, and arginine residues. The pullulan–retinoic acid conjugate and pullulan–retinoic acid–NGR conjugate were prepared by the amide and ester bond formation between the hydroxyl groups of pullulan and carboxylic acid groups of retinoic acid and peptide sequence. Pullulan–retinoic acid–NGR micelles were prepared by the direct dissolution method. The optimized micelles, according to their particle size (124.5 nm), zeta potential (? 3.65 mV), entrapment efficiency (85%), and release of DOX (70%, within 72 h) were assessed for their cytotoxicity on HeLa cells using MTT assay. NGR-targeted pullulan/retinoic acid micelles had higher cytotoxicity than the free DOX in cell culture studies on the HeLa cell line, and this can be a promising result in the treatment of cervix carcinoma.  相似文献

Selection of the best possible filter set among a set of available filters is the obvious method of increasing dimension of camera signals for spectral reflectance reconstruction. There are also methods that are focusing on the filter design regardless of noticing to the constructability of the designed filters. This study shows that direct optimization of physical variables of filter manufacturing technique is more reliable than indirect approach of designing and then physical manufacturing of the designed filters. Direct optimization of the transmission‐controlling primaries in filter manufacturing process would guarantee having the designed filters in reality. Combination of some solvent dyes was used as the spectral transmission matching system for filter manufacturing. As a conventional technique, filters were designed and best possible dye concentrations that match the desired filters were calculated. As an alternative approach, filters were also designed using direct optimization of dyes concentrations. The results showed that direct optimization of dye concentrations exhibits better performance in comparison with the conventional technique. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Preceramic polymer resins are attractive for the 3D printing of net-shaped ceramic components. Recently various processes have been demonstrated for 3D printing of polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs). Ultimately in these processes, the process outcomes strongly depend on the process parameters. In particular, for PDCs the ceramic density, and ceramic yield are affected by the catalyst concentration and cross-linking duration. Here, we use thermal analysis and FTIR to quantify the interrelation of the process parameters on the process outcome for polysilazanes and demonstrate 3D printing of PDC components based on the best-identified process parameters. The results of this work can be used as guidelines for future additive manufacturing of PDCs.  相似文献

The single-photon strong coupling in the deep-resolved sideband of the optomechanical system induces photon blockade (PB) effect. For the PB cavity, an initial mechanical coherent state evolves into superposition of phonon cat states entangled with the cavity Fock states. Measurement of the cavity photon number states produces phonon even and odd cat states. The information leakage effect of two photon states on the fidelity of cat states is calculated, it is shown that for low average phonon number this effect is negligible and decreases by increasing the two photon cavity state. The Lindblad equation is solved numerically to obtain the environmental effects on the fidelity of cat states.  相似文献

The hydrodynamic behavior of the fluid around a cavitation bubble located above a rigid boundary is investigated numerically. The liquid around the cavitation bubble is assumed to be incompressible, inviscid and irrotatational and surface tension is assumed to be negligible. Boundary-integral-equation and finite-difference methods are employed to study the problem. Three cases are investigated: (1) when the Bjerknes force is negligible in comparison with the buoyancy force, (2) when the buoyancy force is negligible in comparison with the Bjerknes force, (3) when the Bjerknes attraction force through the rigid surface and the buoyancy force are comparable. It is shown that during the collapse phase in the third case, an annular liquid jet develops around the bubble, causing it to take the shape of an hour-glass. This phenomenon is called necking which is followed by splitting the bubble into two parts. Features to note are the large lateral pressures and the high relative velocities of the fluid particles near the annular liquid jet of the bubble. This large lateral pressure may be the cause of bubble collapse. The velocity field of the liquid domain around the two parts of the cavitation bubble after splitting shows that a stagnation point exists between the two parts of the bubble. Because of the unsteady nature of the problem, the stagnation point and the point of maximum pressure do not coincide.  相似文献

Caledonian Paper (CaPa) is a major paper mill, located in Ayr, Scotland. For its steam supply, it previously relied on the use of a Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustor (CFBC) of 58 MWth, burning coal, wood bark and wastewater treatment sludge.It currently uses a bubbling fluidized bed combustor (BFBC) of 102 MWth to generate steam at 99 bar, superheated to 465 °C. The boiler is followed by steam turbines and a 15 kg/s steam circuit into the mill. Whereas previously coal, wood bark and wastewater treatment sludge were used as fuel, currently only plantation wood (mainly spruce), demolition wood, wood bark and sludge are used.Since these biosolids contain nitrogen, fuel NOx is formed at the combustion temperature of 850–900 °C. NOx emissions (NO + NO2) vary on average between 300 and 600 mg/Nm3 (dry gas). The current emission standard is 350 mg/Nm3 but will be reduced in the future to a maximum of 233 mg/Nm3 for stand-alone biomass combustors of capacity between 50 and 300 MWth according to the EU LCP standards. NOx abatement is therefore necessary.In the present paper we firstly review the NOx formation mechanisms, proving that for applications of fluidized bed combustion, fuel NOx is the main consideration, and the contribution of thermal NOx to the emissions insignificant.We then assess the deNOx techniques presented in the literature, with an updated review and special focus upon the techniques that are applicable at CaPa. From these techniques, Selective Non-catalytic Reduction (SNCR) using ammonia or urea emerges as the most appropriate NOx abatement solution.Although SNCR deNOx is a selective reduction, the reactions of NOx reduction by NH3 in the presence of oxygen, and the oxidation of NH3 proceed competitively.Both reactions were therefore studied in a lab-scale reactor and the results were transformed into design equations starting from the respective reaction kinetics. An overall deNOx yield can then be predicted for any operating temperature and NH3/NOx ratio.We then present data from large-scale SNCR-experiments at the CFBC of CaPa and compare results with the lab-scale model predictions, leading to recommendations for design and operation. Finally the economic impact is assessed of implementing SNCR-technology when applying an NH3 SNCR or urea SNCR to the CFBC at CaPa.  相似文献
