The investigation of wind resource at higher heights is very crucial in planning wind power project. Normally, this involves the installation of a high and costly meteorological mast with a cup anemometer and wind vanes. This investigation uses the new ground-based remote-sensing technique Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) to investigate the wind resource at higher heights. This paper describes the LiDAR technology principle and examines the potential of LiDAR measurement to estimate the wind resource at higher heights by conducting a measurement campaign at Tamil Nadu, India. The wind statistics were determined using the 10?min average time-series wind data monitored by ZephIR LiDAR. These include the Weibull parameters, daily mean wind speed, wind power density, wind energy density, vertical wind speed profile and capacity factor. The investigation reveals that the vertical wind speed profile measured from the LiDAR system has approximate closer values to the standard meteorological measurement.  相似文献

Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) and metallic copper particles with different microstructures have been prepared by a single-step hydrothermal method by using copper acetate monohydrate and sodium hydroxide as precursors, d-glucose as reducing agent, and poly (vinylpyrrolidone) as stabilizing agent. It was found that the concentration of the NaOH in the reactant solution played a significant role in the structural phase formation of the product. Further, it was also optimized to get either the single phase of Cu2O or Cu or the mixed phase of Cu2O and Cu depending on the NaOH content in the reaction mixture. The product material was systematically investigated by x-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement, UV–Vis, Raman spectroscopies, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS). A thorough analysis of the XRD patterns in a standard method as well as by Rietveld refinement have shown the cubic phases for both Cu2O and Cu. The same phases have been retained in the mixed phase sample also. Optical band gap was determined through Tauc plot to be 1.95 eV. Microstructural studies by SEM showed that the Cu particles were formed as micro flakes whereas the Cu2O particles were formed with the well-defined octahedral morphology. The XEDS analysis confirmed the chemical composition in Cu2O. This work reports the dependence of NaOH concentration in the reactant solution on the type of product (single phase or a mixed phases of Cu2O and Cu) and their structural and optical properties.  相似文献

In this paper, two sets of spectrally efficient ultra‐wideband (UWB) pulses using zinc and frequency‐domain Walsh basis functions are proposed. These signals comply with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations for UWB indoor communications within the stipulated bandwidth of 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. They also demonstrate high energy spectral efficiency by conforming more closely to the FCC mask than other UWB signals described in the literature. The performance of these pulses under various modulation techniques is discussed in this paper, and the proposed pulses are compared with Gaussian monocycles in terms of spectral efficiency, autocorrelation, crosscorrelation, and bit error rate performance.  相似文献

Non-leaching antibacterial coatings through quaternary ammonium salts containing polymers were successfully produced in a facile way to provide infection resistant surfaces against multi drug resistant bacteria such as B. licheniformis. In order to do so, a series of random copolymers of styrene (S) and vinyl benzyl chloride (VBC) were synthesized by free radical polymerization technique and subsequently, VBC (V) was functionalized with N,N-dimethylhexadecylamine to introduce quaternary ammonium (QA) salts in the backbone of the copolymers. The copolymers showed an excellent film forming ability, thereby providing an ultrathin coating on various substrates such as metal (stainless steel), glass, polyethylene and polystyrene, as observed by SEM.The coatings were found to be uniform, non leachable in aqueous medium and exhibit good adhesion to various substrates. The antibacterial and antibiofilm activity of the non-leachable coating of random copolymers were screened against B. licheniformis. Among, the copolymer containing 75% quaternized VBC (75VSQA) having 16-C long alkyl chain was found to show maximum antibacterial and antibiofilm activity owing to an appropriate hydrophobic /hydrophilic balance. Their non-leachable antibacterial and antibiofim activity make these coatings suitable for many applications, e.g. marine paints, textile/hospital coatings etc.  相似文献
