We have studied the influence of different choices of core-envelope transition point on the final merger of contact binaries with two main-sequence components. A binary of 1.00 + 0.90M⊙ with an initial orbital period of 0.35d is examined. The mass fraction of the primary mixed with the matter of the secondary, qmix, determined by the chosen core-envelope transition point, ranges from 0.04 to 1.00 in our analysis. The scientific satellite SST (Space Solar Telescope) is an important research project strongly supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Every day, SST acquires 50 GB of data (after processing) but only 10GB can be transmitted to the ground because of limited time of satellite passage and limited channel volume. Therefore, the data must be compressed before transmission. Wavelets analysis is a new technique developed over the last 10 years, with great potential of application. We start with a brief introduction to the essential principles of wavelet analysis, and then describe the main idea of embedded zerotree wavelet coding, used for compressing the SST images. 在本文中我们对两种不同的 βCephei变星的理论脉动不稳定带作了比较。它们具有明显的不同之处。为了确定这种变星的脉动不稳定带的轮廓 ,我们根据 4 9颗 βCephei变星的观测资料作了统计研究。在从样本星的色指数 (B -V) ,(U -B)和视差得到它们的有效温度和光度之后 ,我们发现在赫罗图上它们大多数是位于主序带内的。而且这些样本星的质量都位于 7M⊙ 到 30M⊙ 之间。和理论模型的比较表明我们提出的具有光度上边界和红蓝边界的 βCephei变星的理论脉动不稳定带跟观测吻合得更好 相似文献

利用9个国际纬度观测站的平纬长期变化序列,重新讨论并估计了平极的长期漂移,得到漂移的平均速率为(3.356“±0.142”)×l0-3/a,方向为西经78.7°±2.5°.进一步基于最新的ICE-4G冰期后地壳反弹模型,采用地球上8个冰盖的冰融参数,估计了理论的平极长期漂移方向为西经74.8°.由观测的平极长期漂移速率为约束,基于1066B地球模型,估计得到地球平均下地幔的黏性为vLM=(0.5-1.7)×1022Pa.s,表明vLM应具有近1022Pa.s量级,并认为地球平极的长期漂移很可能是由最近的21000年以来冰期后的地壳反弹所致. 相似文献

Based on the turbulent convection model (TCM) of Li & Yang, we have studied the characteristics of turbulent convection in the envelopes of 2 and 5M⊙ stars at the red giant branch and asymptotic giant branch phases. The TCM has been successfully applied over the entire convective envelopes, including the convective unstable zone and the overshooting regions. Mutual events between natural satellites include mutual occultation and mutual eclipse. Mutual eclipse is another kind of mutual occultation as viewed from the center of the Sun instead of the Earth.
