The polypyrrole (PPy) and polypyrrole‐Au (PPy‐Au) nanocomposite films have been sonoelectrochemically synthesized on St‐12 steel electrodes using the galvanostatic technique. Experimental design according to the Taguchi method has been applied to optimize the factors on the synthesis of PPy‐Au nanocomposite coating. Three factors were used to design an orthogonal array L9: Synthesis time (t), Current density (I), and Concentration of HAuCl4 (C). The synthesized Au nanoparticles during polymerization were characterized by Ultraviolet–visible (UV‐visible) spectroscopy. Characterization of the surfaces was done by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectrum (EDX), and atomic force microscope (AFM). The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of PPy shows a smooth surface while PPy‐Au nanocomposite film has a compact morphology. Moreover, energy dispersive X‐ray spectrum (EDX) is evidence for the incorporation of Au nanoparticles. The corrosion protection of coatings was investigated by open circuit potential (OCP) time trends, potentiodynamic polarization technique, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in a NaCl 3.5% solution. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract: In this article, the material and physical parameters for the creep constitutive equations of cold‐drawn 304L stainless steel have been determined using experimental data. Austenitic stainless steel 304L is used mostly in power generation and petrochemical industries because of its high‐temperature creep resistance even at above yield stresses. Test samples have been obtained from cold‐drawn bars, and the material conforms to ASTM A276‐05a specifications. The creep behaviour and properties have been examined for this material by conducting uni‐axial creep tests. Constant temperature and constant load uni‐axial creep tests have been carried out at three temperatures of 680,700 and 720 °C, subjected to constant loads which produce below and above yield initial stresses of 200, 250, 320, 340 and 360 MPa. The experimental data have been used to obtain the creep constitutive parameters using numerical optimisation techniques. In addition, the temperature and stress dependency of the creep properties for this alloy have been investigated using Larson–Miller and Monkman–Grant parameters.  相似文献

This study was performed to investigate the variables that influence the efficiency of decolorization of a solution containing an azo dye (Acid Red 14) by electrocoagulation (EC) in order to compare the efficiency of different electrode connections for color removal. Current density, time of electrolysis, interelectrode distance, and pH of the solution were the variables that most influenced color removal. Initially, a simple electrochemical cell was prepared with an anode and a cathode. Then the effect of each variable was studied separately using synthetic wastewater in a batch mode. The efficiency of the method tested was determined by measurement of color removal and reduction of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). For dye solutions with COD of approximately 30 ppm and dye concentrations less than 150 ppm, high color removal (93%) was obtained when the pH ranged from 6 to 9, time of electrolysis was approximately 4 min, current density was approximately 80 A/m2, the temperature was approximately 300 K, and interelectrode distance was 1 cm. During the EC process under these conditions, the COD decreased by more than 85%. In the second series of experiment, the efficiency of EC cells with monopolar electrodes in series and parallel connections and an EC cell with bipolar electrodes were compared with results using a simple electrochemical cell. The experimental results showed that an EC cell with several electrodes was more effective than a simple electrochemical cell in color removal. The results also showed that an EC cell with monopolar electrodes had a higher color removal efficiency than an EC cell with bipolar electrodes. Furthermore, within an EC cell, the series connection of the monopolar electrodes was more effective for the treatment process than the parallel connection in color removal.  相似文献
